Major Accomplishments and Responsibilities

n  Design and implementation of MFA in Creative Technologies and Practice, approved by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education in March 2015 with expected start date Fall Semester 2016.

n  Design and implementation of new concentration and program in animation, approved by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education in October 2014 with expected start date Fall Semester 2016.

n  For a new concentration in Glass Arts, design of program and oversight of construction of purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility (approximately $1.1 million).

n  Design and implementation of Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History—original program placed on hiatus by the University in 2003.

n  Design and implementation of Masters in Art Education in cooperation with the College of Education.

n  Reinstated Printmaking (redesigned) and Sculpture Programs.

n  Led renovation of facility to create a departmental gallery space.

n  Procured donor funding for creation of second graphic design computer lab.

n  Oversight of the University of South Alabama Art Collection including establishment of collection policy.

n  Designed and spearheaded successful implantation of assessment efforts for all programs and concentrations in the Department of Visual Arts.

n  Developed collaborative programs with Space 301, the contemporary art center of Mobile, Alabama.

n  Established funding to support University subscription to ARTstor.

n  Designed and implemented study abroad program based in Toledo, Spain.
